Do You Think Dakota Fanning was a good choice for jane in New Moon?

So New Moon, terrible book, maybe a terrible movie, but in your opinion do you think the director did a good job for picking Dakota Fanning as Jane in the movies New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.

The movie gets the boost of having an A lister in the cast and expect her role to be played up in the advertisement for new moon. They will use it as a selling point. She gets an interesting different role to put on her resume and a chance to boost her appeal with teenage audiences as she herself moves well into her teens. Its a win/win for all concerned and I suspect that none of the people who disagree with her addition will actually refuse to go and see it as a result.
